Intersect KC provides:
- Life-Giving Resources: Free food, clothing and hygiene products and access to resources like job-training, scholarships, food stamps, medical care, support groups and case management through The Micah Ministry, Care Beyond the Boulevard, and other partners. (~1150 meals served every Monday)
- Life-Enriching Experiences: Concerts and informative conversations during Fruition KC, Films, and Festivals; Intersect Arts classes for performing, instrumental, choral, martial, and yoga arts; theatre productions; neighborhood family events, and hosting Ryogoku Soccer Academy, an innovative nonprofit school for grade 6-12 males using project & community-based learning.
- Life-Transforming Gatherings: Films & Conversations For a Cause; town halls; community organizing; justice summits; listening sessions and public leader engagement.
Intersect KC at IBCC needs a custodian to clean after weekly activities and major events, and to keep the facility ready for regular programming. The facility is 35,000 square feet. There is significant sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, bathroom-cleaning, and emptying of trash.
20 hours per week.
The hours are somewhat flexible.
Ideally: Tuesday Morning, Thursday morning, and possibly Saturday afternoon. Some times could be adjusted, depending on building use.
Prefer professional cleaning experience. We appreciate skills like noticing what is needed, attending to details, and communicating with other staff.
$20-21/hour
NOTE: We are also seeking a part time Facility Director. An applicant is welcome to apply for both positions if desiring a full-time position.
