Child & Family Therapist Job Description
Child Protection Center (CPC) is a Child Advocacy Center in Kansas City.  We are building our therapy team and looking for professionals who are passionate about helping kids and families.  We use evidenced-based treatment modalities to engage our clients and to help them on a path toward healing. 
Training opportunities
We provide training in evidenced-based, trauma-focused therapy modalities.  All therapists receive scheduled on-going supervision and consultation from experienced mentors.  Our team of therapists are committed to collaboration and supporting each other.  CPC funds all required training for practice and licensure requirements.  We love to see our therapists grow!

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Administer standardized instruments to assess trauma-related & mood-related symptoms, in compliance with treatment protocols;
  • Assess child’s functioning/needs & provide early intervention, trauma-focused, evidence-based treatment interventions to children, teens & their primary caregivers;
  • Provide written documentation of initial assessment, intervention sessions, treatment plans & final disposition of case;
  • Compile appropriate statistical data and case tracking information;
  • Maintain a caseload of 20 client families;
  • Provide an average of 60 intervention sessions per month;
  • Participate in monthly Child Advocacy Center case review/investigative collaborative meetings;
  • Work with Program Director to ensure adherence to position-related grant goals and objectives and maintain statistical records to track outcomes and ensure goals are met;
  • Act as liaison to the MDT by informing the MDT of significant issues and changes related to the case within the confidentiality standards established by the Child Protection Center;
  • Attend agency events and meetings as necessary and appropriate;
  • Participate in supervision, professional development and on-going training activities
Qualifications 
  • Minimum requirement of Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or a directly-related field. 
  • Current Masters level licensure in Missouri or eligible for immediate licensure required.
  • Ideal candidates will have a general knowledge of trauma, trauma responses, and child development.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in written form
  • Ability to complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Comfort working with a diverse client population.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including some evening hours.
  Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
