Grant Committee Northland Symphony Orchestra Association
The Northland Symphony Orchestra Association enriches our community through free, high-quality orchestral performances that unite professional and community musicians, while also providing educational opportunities for all.
The Grant Committee supports the Northland Symphony Orchestra Association’s mission by identifying, pursuing, and stewarding institutional funding opportunities. The committee works in partnership with staff to research prospective funders, strengthen grant proposals, and ensure compliance with reporting and stewardship requirements.
Committee Responsibilities

Research and recommend grant opportunities aligned with the orchestra’s programs and strategic goals.

Develop, review, and refine grant proposals and supporting materials. This includes submitting approximately four grants per orchestra season.

Provide oversight of grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting requirements.

Support data collection and documentation needed for proposals and reports.
- Assist with stewardship activities, including acknowledgments and impact reporting.
- Monitor trends in arts funding and share insights with staff and the Board.
Committee Composition
The committee is composed of board members and community volunteers with experience or interest in grant writing, fundraising, research, or nonprofit development. The committee meets regularly throughout the year and works closely with staff leadership.
